Breathing a Lie through Silver

Stars were the original silver
The first breath of God in heaven
Some fell to Earth as hybrid forms of music
Others became rivers and trees
Where I lived amongst homeless leaves and twigs
Under a canopy of violet sinews
Splayed across dark skies
I heard the sound of her haunting voice
Muzzled by the wind
I hid in a prism of cold light by the pond:A balm after my body had been tortured,
A balm after my body had been burned
