Bolden Band

The Bolden Band, c. 1905

May 30, 2013

Known as "King Bolden" the cornetist above was crucial to the New Orleans jazz scene at the beginning of the 20th century. Buddy Bolden eventually succumb to schizophrenia and had to be hospitalized. Jazz was never the same.
